Snow Fun and Fellowship

Last Sunday we woke to a South Carolina winter wonderland. Since the roads proved unsafe to travel far, we spent the day at home in fellowship with some of our dear friends. The day concluded in a game of Settlers of Catan, which is quickly becoming a family favorite!

The beautiful view from our porch. I was a little hesitant to venture further...even for a picture!

Spending some time encouraging and edifying each other after lunch

"O Praise Him"

"Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness, tremble before him, all the earth!"
Psalm 96:9

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!"
Psalm 95:6

"Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!"
Psalm 95:1-2

"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
John 4:23-24

"Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."
Revelation 15:3-4

I found this music video both inspiring and convicting!
We're created to worship and enjoy our Maker. So what hinders us from worshiping when we feel led?...Our fear of man?! Ouch!

What a precious experience we forfeit because our focus is on the creation and not the Creator.

Gilels plays Rachmaninoff Prelude Op. 23 No. 5

WOW! Attempting to learn this piece myself, I can certainly appreciate Gilels amazing ability in having mastered this piece. Truly amazing!

Emil Grigoryevich Gilels ( 1916-1985) began studying piano at the age of 5, and proceeded to be one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century. It has often been said that Gilels was universally admired for his superb technical control and burnished tone.

Enjoy!

Tim Hawkins on Chick-Fil-A

For my fellow Chick-Fil-A fans/addicts!

We all got a good laugh after watching this. Then we did what we Johnsons do quite often and watched it a few more times.

Enjoy!

John Piper: Don't Waste Your Vote

John Piper expresses the concerns of this election; as well as, encouraging us to focus on the sovereignty of God. Even amidst the confusion and chagrin over what may happen, the kings heart is in the Lord's hand.

I encourage you to watch this video; I found it a blessing!

Misha Gets Revenge

Misha's sense of humor has kept our family laughing since the day he arrived!
Yesterday, during one of the times he felt intense pain, he was holding his bear dressed in the surgeon clothes the hospital gave him. Between pains, Misha pointed at his bear and said, "Doctor, my operation!". He then proceeded to jokingly break the "doctor's" legs.

We got him to re-enact for the camera...

"My legs, you! Spanky, spanky!"

As you can see, he wasn't too happy at that moment with the doctor that performed his amputation! Misha, Misha!
